With younger children, sessions often include creative and play-based methods to help them express themselves in ways that feel natural and engaging. These may include:
Creative Play – Using toys, stories, and imaginative play to explore feelings
Sandtray Therapy – A gentle, symbolic approach that helps process experiences non-verbally
Art and Crafts – Encouraging self-expression through drawing, painting, and hands-on activities
Emotional Literacy Work – Supporting children to understand, name, and manage their emotions
With teenagers, therapy may involve more reflective conversations alongside creative elements. The focus is on helping them build emotional awareness, confidence, and resilience as they navigate the challenges of adolescence
